Mission Statement

St Hugh's RC

The first Roman Catholic Church in Radstock was a temporary building on the Frome Road, opened in 1913. After the First World War, the stone building which had housed Purnell’s Printing Works, on Wells Hill, was acquired. St Hugh’s Parish, covers the outlying districts of Clandown, Writhlington, Charlton and Kilmersdon. The Church is dedicated to St Hugh who was a member of the first Carthusian monastery at Witham, about 10 miles away. St Hugh later became Bishop of Lincoln.
